SUMMARY:Ottawa Jazz Festival presents the Nicole Ratte Jazz Quintet
DESCRIPTION:Well-known on the local stages\, Nicole Ratté evolved in different styles before developing a true passion for jazz. At home on the stage\, she is known for her warm and effervescent presence and her light and sensual voice. Her career is based on a solid experience of classical\, pop-rock and musical theater performances\, both vocal and instrumental\, which adds more depth into her jazz singing. \nNicole Ratté and her quintet have prepared a tribute to one of Nicole’s favourite composers\, Michel Legrand. You will hear many of Michel Legrand’s most beautiful songs as well as some lesser known pieces that are just as delightful\, in English and French. Soft romantic songs will share the stage with energetic rhythms while a touch of humour will color the whole performance. Nicole and her accomplice will bring you in a variety of emotions and atmospheres.
