English Language Tutoring for the Ottawa Community (ELTOC) is hosting an Open House to raise awareness about the language needs of newcomers who cannot attend school. In 2018-2019, our 147 trained volunteers tutored 213 clients who were not able to attend school. We still have 107 clients on our wait-list waiting for service.

English Language Tutoring for the Ottawa Community provides individualized and accessible English as a Second Language (ESL) tutoring to adult newcomers who cannot attend regular ESL classes, thereby helping them gain the confidence and community ties that will help them integrate into Canadian society. It achieves its mission by matching newcomers to ELTOC-trained volunteers in the community.
