“Hands-On Skilled Trades Exploration Event” is an interactive and engaging employment event designed to expose job seekers to hands-on experiences in skilled trades and provide valuable employment resources. The event features six hands-on trade stations and one employment station, each representing a different skilled trade or employment support service.
Interactive Trade Stations
Participants will rotate through six engaging stations where they can explore skilled trades firsthand:
• Station 1: Tiling
Participants will practice tile repair and tile installation techniques.
• Station 2: Carpentry
Guests will assemble small wooden frames and learn how to accurately use a tape measure.
• Station 3: Plumbing
Participants will install bathroom fixtures and gain a basic understanding of plumbing tools.
• Station 4: Painting
Learn basic painting techniques and tips for a professional finish.
• Station 5: Taping
Introduction to drywall taping and mudding, including techniques for clean seams.
• Station 6: Virtual Reality (VR) Experience – Energy Sector
