Join Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization (OCISO) and Refugee 613 for a participatory and open dialogue session.
Created by a grassroots coalition of service providers and volunteers, Refugee 613 is a communications hub that informs, connects and inspires people to build strong communities through refugee welcome.
OCISO has been supporting immigrants through the journey of making Canada their home for over 40 years, by providing creative and responsive programs that are culturally and linguistically appropriate, by building community through mutual respect and partnerships, and by fostering healthy and inclusive spaces for open dialogue and healing.
R613 will share how they use information and convening to foster collaboration, innovation and whole-of-community support for refugee integration and social cohesion. OCISO will highlight innovative new programming for newcomers. The session will culminate in break out discussions to facilitate sharing and dialogue on challenges and best practices in newcomer integration across communities, including the benefits of communication as a tool for collaboration.
